Lessons

Instruction in windsurfing available by appointment on weekdays and weekends! During the summer of 2024, two-hour beginner courses start every hour from 12 PM to 7 PM. The course fee includes windsurfing equipment, wetsuit, life jacket, and use of shower facilities. Beginner courses accommodate 1-4 participants simultaneously. Group lessons for larger groups are also available. If you are interested in a group booking, please contact us by phone or email.

Children’s instruction is primarily provided on an individual basis. For children under 12 years old, instruction arrangements must be made separately; please contact us by phone or email.

The prices of the courses are per person. The three-hour Surfweek courses are available only during Surfweek.

Equipment rental

Windsurfing equipment, surfboards, SUP boards, and wingfoil equipment are available for rent daily from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We recommend booking equipment in advance at surfkeskus.johku.com, as demand for equipment is high in good weather conditions. The surf center closes at 7:00 PM, by which time all equipment must be returned to the storage.

Note: Windsurfing and wingfoil equipment are rented only to those with at least basic skills. If you have no previous experience in windsurfing or wingfoiling, equipment will not be rented. In this case, please contact us and book a beginner course first.

All equipment rentals include a wetsuit and a life jacket.

Equipment rentals for a whole day (11:00-19:00) are arranged separately. Please contact us by phone, email, or inquire with our staff for more information

Surfcenter’s facilities

At the Surfcenter, there are separate changing rooms and shower facilities available for both men and women, and in addition, a surf sauna situated between the changing rooms warms up as the weather demands. A surf pass grants access to the changing rooms, showers, and sauna. It can be purchased for a single day, ten visits, or for the entire 2024 season.

In the Surfcenter’s storage area, it is possible to store one’s own water sports equipment (such as windsurf board, kite, SUP, wingfoil). Equipment storage can be purchased for a daily fee. For SPLL members, equipment storage is also available for the entire summer season of 2024.

For members of the Finnish Wind- and kitesurfing Association (Suomen purje- ja leijalautailuliitto), SPLL membership rates apply at the Surfcenter. Anyone can join the windsurfing association by visiting: spll.fi/jasenmaksut and paying the association’s membership fee. Membership benefits include access to the membership price list as well as, for example, group accident insurance. We warmly recommend joining as a member to all new and existing watersports enthusiasts.
